What have been the biggest challenges the Events industry has faced over the past 12 months?
- There has been a clear change in budget expectations, post pandemic. Clients want the same production value but with tighter budgets and lead times.
- Although many events were being held as hybrid requiring broadcast quality production, we are experiencing more in person events.
- Whilst costs have been rising there has been a reluctance for clients to spend more to offset this.
And what have been the biggest opportunities?
- Engaging new clients.
- The event industry is increasingly focusing on sustainability, with event organizers adopting eco-friendly practices.
- Reduced Waste: Sustainable practices help minimise waste and promote environmentally responsible event management.
- Wider reach to International Markets:being a trusted supplier so the clients.
What is the biggest priority for the Events industry this year?
Maintaining and developing relationships in an increasingly competitive market, with a large pool of global competitors it’s not enough to produce events for the same clients, we have to add even more production value and raise our game.
What are the main trends you are expecting to see in the market next year?
- Hybrid and virtual events are becoming more sophisticated.
- Sustainability is also a growing priority, with a focus on zero-waste events and carbon-neutral initiatives. We have moved away from conventional timber stage and set design and now only use reusable modular aluminium framed sets, reducing single use items, waste, and productivity significantly.
- In-person events remain important: While hybrid and virtual events are growing, in-person events still provide unique opportunities for networking and relationship building.
- Micro-events and roadshows: These smaller, more intimate events are gaining popularity.
- Emphasis on attendee engagement: Event organisers are focused on creating interactive and engaging experiences that keep attendees actively involved.
- Venue selection: Venues are becoming integral to the event experience, prioritising spaces that align with the event’s theme and atmosphere.
