Is it just us, or does it feel like summer was shorter than ever this year? September is here and, if you’re feeling guilty about failing to make the most of the sun so far, then don’t worry – there are still plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy yourself before the winter weather kicks in.
If the weather holds up, you can’t beat a good meal out. So, we took a look at the most-liked TikToks featured when you search for ‘outdoor restaurant Manchester’. We kept the search limited to the last six months, so you won’t get any nasty surprises, and found out which of Manchester’s outdoor dining spaces are most popular with foodie influencers.
Here’s seven of the best, brought to you with help from the Manchester-based design experts, Nth Degree.
- Ocasa | Spinningfields
The brand-new Ocasa opened this April and has already become one of the city’s most sought-after dining locations. Whether you fancy classic tacos, coal-fired skewers or something new and exciting – like the Churrasco lamb cutlets or crab nachos with tarragon and lemon – Ocasa has you covered.
With an 80-seat terrace and retractable roof, there’s no shortage of al fresco ambience.

2. Libby’s Bread and Wine | Marple Bridge
Okay, it’s a little way out of the city, but Marple Bridge is still Greater Manchester (just about!) and that means there’s no way Libby’s Bread and Wine can miss out on a spot on our list. Serving artisan baked goods by day and transforming into a small plates, cocktail and wine bar for the evening, Libby’s is set against a stunning treetop skyline that makes you feel like you’re in the jungle!

3. CIBO | Hale
CIBO has established something of an empire in and around Manchester, known as the finest purveyors of Italian food around. With locations in Manchester, Wilmslow, Disley and now Hale, CIBO is a firm favourite for seasonal fare – don’t miss out on the salsiccia with white beans, or the vibrant salmon salad.
For outdoor dining, look no further than CIBO Hale*, where the stunning blossom-lined terrace provides panoramic sunset views.

4. Bar San Juan | Chorlton
Looking for an intimate meal outside that really captures the easy-going magic of eating outdoors on holiday? With its quaint continental décor and imported beer selection, Bar San Juan feels like it was plucked off the streets of Seville and plonked down in Chorlton.
Unlike some of the other sprawling terraces around here, there’s only a few outdoor tables – and they’re packed, even on a weeknight. This isn’t one to miss, however, so make sure you make a reservation!

5. Deano’s Bar & Restaurant | Northern Quarter
Fancy a fun, casual bite on one of the NQ’s most-bustling streets? Deano’s has become a favourite with foodie influencers, thanks to an array of Italian-American food, extensive drink menu and bouncing atmosphere.
Their legendary cheese pulls – seen on their square Detroit pizza slices, parmos and especially mozzarella dippers – have become the venue’s calling card.

6. Kallos | Salford
With its minimalist décor and tight, focused menu, the newly-opened Kallos is already becoming a favourite with the North West’s TikTokers. Menu highlights include beef cheek stifado, filo-wrapped feta with honey and a selection of premium tinned fish from around the mediterranean.
