Center Parcs re-opens Sherwood Forest events facilities after £4.3m refurb

Center Parcs Conferences & Events has completed its £4.5m refurbishment of its dedicated events venue at its Sherwood Forest site, including a significant extension housing four new meeting spaces for smaller groups, and an overall event capacity of up to 550 delegates in total.

Other alternations at the facility, known as The Venue, began last May and include a new entrance and reception area overlooking the lake, as well as two outdoor terraces, while inside has seen brand new AV and lighting systems installed for a superior corporate event experience.

Julia Green, head of corporate events at Center Parcs Conferences & Events, said: “I can’t think of a better start to 2024 than to be reawakening Sherwood Forest and see the venue spring back to life after nine months of hibernation. With Sherwood being our first UK village to open in 1987, we were keen to ensure that this upgrade respected the heritage of the venue, while still giving it a substantial ‘facelift’ to match the recent refurbishment of our venue in Woburn Forest – which we renovated back in September 2022. We couldn’t be happier with how the venue is looking and are eager to welcome new and returning clients over the coming months.”

Sherwood Forest retains its ECOsmart GOLD sustainability accreditation, which it was awarded following a rigorous audit by Greengage Solutions in July 2023, with every step of the refurbishment taking the venues at Sherwood Forest and Woburn Forest closer to Platinum level.

Among the inaugural events at Sherwood Forest are some of Center Parcs’ popular team building activities suited to the colder months, such as Mission Possible, Adventure Quest and Conquer The Forest, to name a few – and a chance for delegates to enjoy the Winter Forest Lights or warm up in the award-winning Aqua Sana spa in their down-time.

Businesses opting for an overnight stay will benefit from the unique accommodation offering at Sherwood Forest, which holds over 900 lodges – ranging from one-bedroom self-catered apartments and spacious Executive Lodges, through to luxurious Treehouses.
